Less than 10 days to enter the Standard Bank Sikuvile Journalism Awards
There are just under 10 days left to enter the South African National Editors’ Forum’s (SANEF) Standard Bank Sikuvile Journalism Awards (Sikuvile Awards) as entries close 25 May.
With no deadline extension this year, editors, journalists, managers and publishers in the print, online/digital, and broadcast (radio and TV) media are encouraged to get their entries in.
The Awards event is a highlight on the journalistic calendar, and this year winners will be announced at a live event at The Venue, Melrose Arch, on 24 June 2023.
All category winners receive the coveted Sikuvile Journalism Award Trophy as well as R15,000 prize money (to be shared if there is more than one winner in a category).
There are 14 categories to choose from this year. Win your category and you stand in line to be judged as the Journalist of the Year by this year’s jury.
The Juby Mayet Rising Star of the Year is also selected from the entries in the categories by the jury.
Also to be announced at the event is the Allan Kirkland Soga / Standard Bank Chairman’s Lifetime Achievement Award (previously the Allan Kirkland Soga: Achievement Award) that recognises a sustained and extraordinary contribution to newspaper journalism on the part of an individual and the winner will have demonstrated impeccable ethics and craft excellence
